NU LECTURER ALLIANCE: DECLARATION OF DISPELLING  RADICALISM

At least 500 lecturers from various universities throughout Indonesia joined the Nahada Lecturer Alliance (ADN), to dispel radicalism in students. Their determination was stated in the declaration and affixing of signatures in the auditorium Prof. Dr. KH, M. Tolchah Hasan, Wednesday (9/10).

The chairman of the ADN Alliance, Imam Hambali, appealed to tshe rectors  and officials of higher education in general to conduct early detection of radicalism to new students (freshmen).

“If there is indication of radicalism, we will approach it as well as possible, and scrutinize it. Then we can detect it through the lecturers, and we integrate that approach with movement of patriotism,” he said

ADN  will put strong efforts to detect radicalism early on in new students (freshmen) through approaches that are in accordance with the ideology of the nation. These efforts are made, so that the younger generation is far from exposure to unnecessary understandings and is able to maintain the integrity of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

A number of university rectors were also present in the moment of the ADN declaration such as the Rector of Brawijaya University (UB), Prof. Dr. Nuhfil Hanani, AR., MS, rector  of University of Islam Malang  (Unisma), Prof. Dr. Maskuri, M.Si, as well as  a number of other campus officials such as those  from Central Java, Surabaya, and Blitar. The effort to establish an alliance this time is also a manifestation of optimizing the functions of the three pillars of higher education.
