Having Invented Degenerative Diseases Fighting Fertilizer

A lecturer of Unisma has managed to invent a fertilizer formula that could fight degenerative diseases. In addition, this fertilizer has been proven to produce abundant yields.

The lecturer who is also a dean of the Faculty of Agriculture of Unisma who has invented the fertilizer, Dr. Ir Nurhidayati MP,  stated that she named the fertilizer Multipurpose Vermicompost (MPV). The invention of  the MPV formula is as the results of her research through leading university competitive grant since 2015. Until now, research on the application of MPV to various types of horticultural plants is still being conducted.

“This MPV application in organic vegetable plants has been proven to increase the nutritional content of vegetables. With higher nutritional content, the vegetable contain nutrients which are very important for health to prevent degenerative diseases, “said Dr. Nurhidayati.

She explained that the relentless use of agrochemicals can cause environmental pollution and decreased vegetable quality both in terms of nutritional content and storability of these vegetables. Agricultural products of this kind when consumed by humans will cause the accumulation of toxins and free radicals that cause diseases.

Dr. Nurhidayati further said that organic plants have very significant benefits for human health because organic products have high nutritional content and are free from harmful chemical residues such as chemical pesticides and excessive nitrate residues in the soil.

She also explained that the MPV product tests have been carried out in the green house and in the field on some Pak-coi mustard greens, cabbage, broccoli and sweet corn which gave significantly higher results than those using inorganic fertilizer, even able to provide residual effects by 4 times planting without adding more fertilizer.

MPV test results on curly lettuce have shown to increase antioxidant, vitamin C content, chlorophyll and mineral contents in curly lettuce compared to those using chemical fertilizers (inorganic). “This MPV has also been tested on water spinach plants and has  shown to provide better results and quality than those using inorganic fertilizers,” she continued.
