100 % OF MEDICAL STUDENTS PASSED THE EXAM 3 TIMES IN A ROW

Again, 100% of medical students of Unisma passed the Professional Doctor Program Student Competency Examination. This is the third achievement in a row since August 2020, almost all of them are first takers.

With this great success, medical faculty of  Unisma is currently ranked second among all medical faculties in Indonesia. “Actually, our first taker pass is one hundred percent, since one person resigns, hence it counts for 98.6 percent,” said Dean of medical faculty of  Unisma, dr. Rahma Triliana, M.Kes, Ph.D.

First taker is a status given to students who pass the Professional Doctor Program Student Competency Examination. If they have not passed and retake the exam for the second time, it is called a cracker.

Graduating with first taker status provides many great benefits for students. Among them are the determinants of being able to take specialist education. And the success of being a first taker is certainly more desirable in the world market. “So the benefits are very huge for further education. And it is very beneficial  in the world market, “she explained.

The rector of Unisma, Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Si, also gave his appreciation for the achievements of the medical faculty which has led its students to pass one hundred percent of the Professional Doctor Program Student Competency Examination. According to him, the success in producing great doctors who are professional, competent, faithful and have good character is a major contribution to the progress of the nation. “We are proud of Unisma’s medical faculty, which is able to make amazing achievements,” he said.

Furthermore, the rector of Unisma Prof. Maskuri revealed that doctors who graduated from this major were different from the others. They are not only equipped with competence in their scientific fields, but also with strong Islamic values because students of this major are required to stay in the pesantren (Islamic borading school) for one year or two semesters.

At the pesantren, medical students learn more about especially about the morals and ethics of Muslim doctors such as  morals or manners how to face and treat patients. “Another added value is that they must memorize the holy Koran at least two juz (chapter). This is our point of excellence so that students in this major are increasingly credible and trusted by the public, “he concluded.
