PRESENTING THE AMBASSADOR OF AZERBAIJAN, UNISMA STEADY UP AS NU LOCOMOTIVE

University of Islam Malang (Unisma) invited  the Indonesian ambassador for Azerbaijan, Prof. Dr. Husnan Bey to be  the sole speaker in the guest lecture. The presence of this special person is expected to be able to strengthen the campus’s identity as a locomotive for NU.

The guest gecture was titled Multicultural Islamic Education in the Perspective of Sociological History by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia for Azerbaijan, Prof. Dr. H Husnan Bey Fananie MA. On the occasion the rector of Unisma, Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Si. felt optimistic that the presence of this special guest enhances Unisma’s motivation to become the NU–based higher education locomotive.

“With his santri background, his figure is also known as an orator, academician, politician, and also a musician,” said Prof. Masuri

Furthermore, the rector of Unisma added that Unisma as an Islamic tertiary institution builds the scientific nuance as well as the morality through a variety of lectures and multicultural studies that are expected to bring Indonesia as a harmonious and tolerant nation.

Unisma deliberately invited the Indonesian ambassador to Azerbaijan because of his figure as an expert on civilization. He is also recognized as having rich experience because of traveling in several Islamic countries. “This is in accordance with the jargon of this campus, from Unisma for NU and World Civilization.” He said.

In his presentation, the Indonesian ambassador for Azerbaijan appealed to make the Unisma campus a second home as well as regard the rector of Unisma  and lecturers as their own parents.

“Because obedience coupled with the attitude of ‘down to earth’ will bring blessing to the knowledge that is studied at this campus. And that is the hallmark of Islamic education, which emphasizes character building,” he said
