AWARDED FOR BECOMING THE YOUNGEST DOCTOR HOLDER

Surya Sari Faradiba, a lecturer at Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) ofUnisma, was listed as the youngest doctor holder in the 99th graduation ceremony of Malang State University held on October 5, 2019. At the age of 33, she successfully completed her doctoral program  in Mathematics Education within four years.

Not only the youngest, the daughter of H. Arief Zainal and Hj. AsihYulianti graduated with honors (Cum laude) with GPA 3.80 in 4 scale. She received a scholarship from the Ministry of Research Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti) in the Domestic Graduate Education Scholarship (BPPDN) program.

BPPDN is a scholarship that is provided for permanent lecturers who work in tertiary institutions under the guidance of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education with a maximum four-year education period guided by a reliable homeland promoter. During her study, she has published two Scopus indexed articles.

The first article entitled Metacognitive therapy for mathematics disorder was presented at the International Conference on Mathematics and Science Education (ICMSCE) in 2018 at the Indonesian University of Education (UPI), Bandung.

The second article “Looking without seeing: The role of metacognitive blindness of students with high math anxiety” was published in the International Journal of Cognitive Research in Science, Engineering and Education (IJCRSEE) in 2019. IJCRSEE is one of the Scopus indexed journals (Q3) published by The Association for the Development of Science, Engineering and Education, Serbia.

For her achievement, Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Si, the rector of Unisma awarded her in the moment of the 62nd  graduation day of Unisma which was held on Saturday, October 26, 2019.
