Visit Taiwan, Unisma Collaborate with Four Countries

Stronger Commitment for Industrial Era 4.0

Rector of Universitas Islam Malang  (Unisma), Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Si and vice rector I, Prof. Drs. H. Junaidi, M.Pd., Ph.D, signed MoU for  cooperating with four countries at once namely Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines and Taiwan on Sunday (9/12), at the National Ping Tung University, Taiwan. At the same time, Unisma also cooperated with 9 Universities from  four countries.

The cooperation with 9 Universities will focus on several fields including education and teaching, development of Human Resources (HR), research and community service; meanwhile the collaboration with the National Ping Tung University is focused more on the Double Degree program.

“The Double Degree program will be implemented by both  National Ping Tung University and UNISMA soon after  the two parties have come to agreemnet to concretize the curriculum,” said Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Si.

Prior to this, Unisma held a focus group discussion (FGD) with experts, one of them is Prof. Liliek Sulistyowati, Ph.D, who is a reviewer of proposal for joint degree programs with universities from other countries. This was done to help Unisma  prepare everything needed to organize the program with overseas universities.

The collaboration that has been built with the National Ping Tung University is the first step to explore the realization  and the implementation of a joint degree program between the two parties. This  program enables Unisma students to  receivea scholarship from universities in Taiwan in all departments.

“Up to present, UNISMA has cooperated with 25 countries in the attempt to  improve the quality of education in the era of 4.0 and develop UNISMA competitiveness at global level,” said Maskuri.

After the signing of the MoU between Unisma and the four countries, Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Si and Prof. Drs. H. Junaidi, M.Pd., Ph.D attended the Global Presidential Summit at the National Ping Tung University, Taiwan, on Monday (10/12). In that agenda, the rector of Unisma had  opportunity to be a keynote speaker before of the rectors from various countries such as, India, Japan, South Korea, China, the Philippines, Russia, Thailand, America, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia. The theme of the discussion was The Future of the University, namely how universities step in the industrial era 4.0 and the importance of networking for campus development.
