DISPATCHING THE 2019 COMMUNITY SERVICE STUDENTS OF UNISMA

The acting Malang regent, Drs. H. Sanusi, dispatched 1,112 students of University of Islam Malang (Unisma) for community service on Thursday (1/8) morning. In his remarks, the regent appealed to students to be able to contribute the best for the community development.

By implementing creative ideas through the Unisma Community Service Program this year, “later it will be made like a competition; we will coordinate with the campus. The three best groups will be given cash prizes,” he said

Unisma sets two themes in the Community Service Program this time namely the Thematic Village and the Independent Prosperous Village. Of the two themes, each of the three best community service groups will be determined. “They get 5 million, 3 million, and 2 million rupiahs for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd winners respectively,” he explained to thousands of students.

Students from various majors will be creative according to their scientific fields. The theme of the thematic village is expected to have an impact on the environment. And the theme of an independent village has to do with the economy.

Vice Rector II of Unisma, H. ​​Noor Shodiq Askandar, SE., MM., said that community service program is arealization of three pillars of higher education in addition to education and research aspects. The purpose of community service program is to help communities that are encountering problems.

Vice Rector II of Unisma also expressed his gratitude to the government of Malang Regency, which has been willing to provide an opportunity to Unisma in carrying out academic tasks. The opportunity is very valuable to develop students’ knowledge and creativity.
