UNISMA’S ISLAMIC FAMILY LAW ACCREDITATED EXCELLENCE

The Islamic Family Law Study Program (Ahwal Syakhshiyyah)  of Faculty of Islamic Studies Unisma achieved superior accreditation. The achievement was officially issued through a decree and a certificate from National Accreditation Body  for University, yesterday (17/2).

Unisma rector, Prof. Dr. Maskuri Msi, revealed that this superior accreditation meets 9 standards starting from Human Resources (HR), curriculum, facilities, libraries, community service research, cooperation, alumni and users. This includes assessing how to build good leadership from the study program level to the university level. “We get a very high score, namely 374. Usually to reach 367-368 is very difficult and thank God we are scored 374,” he explained.

That achievemnet is partly because, according to Maskuri, the number of doctors in this study program reached 60 percent. Also the number of Lecturers with lektor kepala is above 50 percent. “This shows that the Islamic Family Law study program has competitiveness and has special advantages. We also continue to cooperate, both domestic and foreign, especially in the development of study programs,” he said.

Furthermore, Prof. Maskuri said that  this study program has been established for a long time, namely since 1981. This excellent accreditation score is in line with the development of Unisma in the last 6 years. “I was inherited with 13 study programs accredited C and  and 27 study programs accredited B. Now the total number of study programs is 35 with 10 study programs accredited A, 23 study programs  accredited B and 2 new study programs accredited C.

The impact of this accreditation score will be competitiveness. This means, said Maskuri, the public will see, if you get the title of excellence then the quality is good so that the public’s interest from time to time will be even better. “This is proven because the public interest in registering in this study program has also increased” he said.

Maskuri targets that in the future the study program at Unisma will achieve international accreditation. He said that 7 study programs have been prepared and processed. “In May, we target to submit for the accreditation of ASIC (Accredittation Service for International Schools, Colleges & Universities) and FIBAA (The Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation),” he concluded.
