Many ways are performed to commemorate the month of Muharram as the first month of the Islamic year. One of them is giving helps to  orphans and the poor. That was also carried out by the University of Islam Malang (Unisma) through the agenda of helps for 1,000 orphans and the poor  on Monday (9/9).
Unisma’s vice rector 3,Dr. Ir. Badat Muwakhid, MP,  said that within  a year Unisma held a similar agenda up to three times namely in the commemoration of Muharram, Unisma’s Anniversary in March, and in Ramadan.
“In fact, in the anniversary of Unisma, the faculties also conduct similar activities namely giving helps to the orphans and the poors,” he said.
On Muharram’s commemoration of this year, Unisma helps 1000 orphans and poor people from 26 orphanages in the city of Malang which cover orphanages in 20 villages in the city of Malang, especially areas around the Unisma campus whose names are not included in orphanages.
Unisma’s rector, Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Si hopes that this help will add to the blessing of Unisma through the prayers of orphans and poor people. According to him, the best home and campus are those where there are orphans who are supported. On the contrary, the worst home is the one in which there are orphans who are neglected.
