TALKSHOW  BY TAJIKISTAN STUDENTS

The Office of International Affairs of  University of Islam Malang (Unisma) held an international talkshow in Central Asia online via zoom and also was broadcasted on the facebook of Office of International Affairs, Thursday (05/28/2020) under the theme “Between Tourism, Clothing Culture” guided by the Head of Unisma’s Office of International Affairs, Dr. Imam Wahyudi Karimullah MA.

The speakers were foreign students studying at Unisma from Tajikistan, Syamsiya Abdurazogova and Mamurjon Halimov.

Syamsiya stated that he had been studying at Unisma for 10 months through the Ministry of Education and Culture’s Darmasiswa program. “I now live in the Unisma’s dorm,” Syamsiya explained in the talkshow. Her Indonesian language is relatively fluent. Yet when she first arrived in Indonesia, she can only say thank you.

When asked why she chose to study in Indonesia, Syamsiya said that at that time she only wanted to go abroad and did not know much about Indonesia and wanted to know Indonesia more.

In the talkshow, she presented the aspects of her country Tajikistan. “The reason for my presentation is because there are many who ask about where Tajikistan is. My country is indeed new and not yet well known. I am presenting today to make my country more well-known,” answered Syamsiya, who could not return home because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Syamsiya also admitted that she was happy to study at Unisma because in addition to many students who were friendly to her, there were many lecturers at Unisma who helped her if she had difficulty understanding the materials.
