IMPROVING SCIENCFIC WRITING, THE GRADUATE PROGRAM HELD AUTHOR WORKSHOP

Graduate program of Unisma held a workshop on writing scientific papers in Unisma. Those who were present on the occasion were vice rector 1 (Prof. H. Junaidi, M.Pd., Ph.D.), director of graduate programs (Prof. H.M Mas’ud Said, MM., Ph.D.), vice director 1 (Dr. H. Nur Fajar Arif, M.Pd.), and vice director 2 (Dr. Rulam Ahmadi, M.Pd.), as well as all heads of departments of graduate programs in Unisma.

Director of graduate programs of Unisma, Prof. Dr. H. M. Mas’ud Said, MM., Ph.D., in his speech said, “good writing is not because of the use of good language, but how the writing is accepted by the Scopus indexed journals”.

Prof. Mas’ud Said paid attention to how to make Unisma graduate students become reliable writers. The dream of the director of the graduate program of Unisma was not just statements, but it should be  implemented with a variety of activities including a scientific writing workshop for quality writing acceptable in national and international journals in particular Scopus indexed journals. This workshop was held in the Ali bin Abi Talib Building, Unisma graduate program building, this morning.

Vice rector 1, Prof. H. Drs. Junaidi, M.Pd., Ph.D., in his remarks asserted that writing scientific papers is the responsibility of students and researchers in general. Masters students conduct research, and then make a report called a thesis, and a dissertation for doctoral students.

“In the past, student research results were stacked on library shelves without providing benefits to the community at large. Now student research results must be written in the form of articles which were then published in a scientific journal,” said vice rector 1.

One of the speakers, Prof. Ali Saukah, M.A., Ph.D, said that scientific publications are “alms” to colleagues and public in general. This message was delivered at the 2019 Author Workshop on Academic Writing and Publishing, which was attended by students from all graduate programs.
