UNISMA AND UMK MALAYSIA SIGN MOU FOR STUDENTS AND LECTURERS EXCHANGE

The rector  of Unisma, Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Si, attended the Special Meeting between UMK Leaders and Rectors of Partner Universities of Indonesia, at the Malaysian Kelantan University (UMK) rectorate building, Wednesday (7/8/2019).

During the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) were signed by the rector of University of Islam Malang (Unisma) and the rector of Malaysia’s UMK, Prof. TS. Dr. Noor Azizi bin Ismail, FCMI, CMA.

Also present at this forum were the rectors of the Malaysian UMK partners. This was a reciprocal visit from Unisma sinceUMK has visited Unisma for several times in the framework of the Global Summit of University Leaders in March 2019 at Unisma.

The rector ofUnisma was accompanied by the head of the Office of International Affairs, Dr. Imam Wahyudi Karimullah, MA, in the framework of discussing the follow-up of the collaboration between Unisma and UMK Malaysia in the fields of students / faculty members exchange, credit transfer and joint degree programs.

It is planned that in the near future Unisma will send 20 students to carry out student exchange program activities at UMK for joint collaboration on entrepreneurship.

Other collaborative programs that will be developed in the near future are joint degree programs and visiting professors and exchange programs in the fields of agro-technology, architectural engineering, education, and human and animal health.

This forum also discussed research collaboration with research fund sharing (matching grant) between Unisma and UMK. With the commitment to share research funding from the two universities, it is hoped that this will increase joint research programs between the two universities in enhancing good relations between Indonesia and Malaysia.
