Unisma’s rector, Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Si accepted the visit of Presidente Centro da Comunidade Islamica de Timor Leste (President of the Timor Leste Islamic Community Center), Arif Abdullah Sagran, Tuesday (3/9).
Arif Abdullah is one of the influential Muslim leaders in Timor Leste. He has served as Commissioner of the General Election Commission (KPU) of Timor Leste for two periods (2007-2017).
Arif said that this visit was a visit in preparation for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Unisma and the Centro da ComunidadeIslamica de Timor Leste in the area of three pillars or tridharma mainly in the field of community service and enhancing human resources in Timor Leste by Unisma.
UNISMA vice rector for academic and cooperation affairs, Prof. Drs. H. Junaidi, M.Pd., Ph.D who was also accompanied by the head of the UNISMA International Affairs Office, Dr. Imam WahyudiKarimullah, S.S., MA said that in the near future there will be a signing of the MoU between the two parties.
Unisma’s rector, Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Si said that relations between Indonesia and Timor Leste have been well established and every year the trend of Timor Leste students is increasing. The hope of this visit is that the outstanding students of Timor Leste can continue their study at Unisma through a scholarship scheme for international students provided by Unisma. This is in line with the vision of Unisma, leading to a top international standard campus.
