ESTABLISHING COOPERATION WITH THE INDONESIAN EMBASSY FOR AFGHANISTAN

University of Islam Malang (Unisma) has again established an international collaboration. This time, Unisma agreed to cooperate with the Indonesian Embassy in Afghanistan. The signing of the MoU and the international webinar was held virtually (26/2).

The MoU was signed directly by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Afghanistan, Dr. Ir. Arief Rachman, MM., MBA and Vice rector 1 of Unisma, Prof. Junaidi, Ph.D.

After signing the MoU, it was followed up with international webinar by the Indonesian Ambassador, Arief Rachman under the theme of the opportunity for the Nahdlatul Ulama College (PTNU) to develop networks to prepare the golden generation to build world culture and civilization.

On this occasion, Arief encouraged Unisma students to take a leading role for the progress of the Indonesian nation in the future. In the next 25 years, Indonesia must be able to welcome the golden era that has been coveted so far.

“Students are the heirs and the embodiment of a golden Indonesia in 2045. They are the hope of the nation to realize an advanced, independent, just and prosperous Indonesia,” he said.

Hence, Arif said that Unisma students must take a role and be part of these changes by keeping a national perspective.

“You are Z generation or superior generation. The development of self-potential is different from previous generations. So there will be a generation with character, practical, ethical, realistic, but also nationalist and religious in accordance with Unisma’s ideals, “he explained.

Arief also reminded that in the future, competition in various fields will be tighter. Change happened so fast. Competitiveness is measured by ability or competence.

“The key is acceleration. Don’t get complacent about the situation. As a sustainable generation, it must make day to day progress, ”explained the retired Major General army.

Meanwhile, the rector of Unisma, Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Si, gave his appreciation to Dr. Ir. Arief Rachman, MM., MBA., as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Afghanistan. He said that Unisma’s desire to establish international cooperation this time was thanks to the quick response from the Indonesian Embassy in Afghanistan. “Even the MoU was an idea from the ambassador. So we as leaders convey the highest appreciation to the ambassador, “he said.

Prof. Maskuri revealed that the cooperation in the MoU between Unisma and Afghanistan was nothing but an acceleration effort to expand networks abroad. “This is one of our efforts to build a network at the international level,” he added.

He also hoped that from the meeting which was held virtually and through subsequent programs, ideas and strategic thoughts would emerge to build Unisma. “Hopefully there will be great ideas for branding Unisma as an NU campus for Indonesia and world civilization,” he said.
