UNISMA – CHINESE MRI-SAAS RESEARCH INSTITUTE: COOPERATION IN THE FIELD OF ANIMAL HUSBANDRY AND AGRICULTURE

The Rector of Unisma, Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Si, established cooperation with Mr. Chen Kai, head of the Maize Research Institute Academy of Agricultural Sciences (MRI-SAAS) in the rector’s room of the University of Islam Malang (UNISMA), by signing MoU at the Umar bin Khottob Building, Friday (23/08/2019).

The signing of the collaboration was witnessed by the acting Malang regent, Drs. H. M. Sanusi, M.M, and accompanied by the Head of the Horticultural and Plantation Food Crop Service (DTPHP) of Malang regency, Dr. Ir. Budiar Anwar, M.Sc.

“The purpose of this research collaboration is cooperation in agriculture and animal husbandry, namely research in the field of corn and cow milk productivity improvement in Malang Regency” said Prof. Drs. H. Junaidi, M.Pd., Ph.D, vice rector for Academic Affairs and Cooperation of Unisma.

With this collaboration, the rector of Unisma, Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Si and the acting Malang regent, Drs. H. M. Sanusi, M.M, hope that the results of the collaborative research development plan by Unisma  and MRI-SAAS China will be able to improve the welfare of the people in Malang regency through increasing agricultural and livestock production. Moreover, MRI-SAAS has a world-class leading research reputation in agriculture and animal husbandry. This institution has cooperated with various countries around the world, including Australia, Europe, America and several Asian countries.

Furthermore, the head of Unisma’s International Affairs Office (KUI), Dr. Imam Wahyudi Karimullah, MA, as the facilitator for Focus Group Discussion with the theme “Initiating Collaboration in Research on Agricultural and Livestock Production between Unisma (Indonesia) and MRI-SAAS (China) facilitated by Local Government of Malang Regency said that in the near future KUI in collaboration with the Unisma’s Research and Community Service Unit (LPPM) will follow up this research collaboration plan such as by arranging permission from Unisma’s foreign partners to carry out joint research with Unisma.

“This is a positive opportunity to design programs that can be shared by Unsima, MRI-SAAS, and  Malang regency government,” said Dr. H. Mochtar Data, M.Pd (Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the UNISMA Foundation) who also attended the opening of Focus Group Discussion with MRI-SAAS, China.
