Unisma helds the Technical Guidance for Halal(Kosher) Assurance System (SJH) “Strengthening Malang City Halal Tourism Destinations” in the Seminar Room of Umar bin Khattab Building, Wednesday (8/21/2019). This activity is in collaboration between the Central Laboratory and Unisma Halal Center with the Culture and Tourism Office of Malang.
Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI), LPPOM MUI East Java and University Halal Center in Malang will hold technical guidance for two days (21-22 August 2019). The participants of the technical guidance came from hotels and restaurants in Malang city, which proceeded towards halal certification.
In 2019, Malang City was awarded the Halal Tourism destination. In the implementation, there are many things that must be prepared, one of which is the provision of products which are guaranteed halal for tourists.
Therefore hotels and restaurants in Malang compete for halal certification. The role of the Central Laboratory and Halal Center in this process is as a hotel and restaurant advisory team in the halal assurance system. The assistance was also a service from the Central Laboratory and Halal Center for the wider community.
The majority of Indonesian people who are moslems makes Halal Tourism one of the absolute demands that must be realized. Halal has now become part of the lifestyle not only among moslems but also public in general.
“The halal trend is not only found in Muslim-majority countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, but also in European countries as well as in Australia because halal has become a lifestyle of the world community,” said rector of  Islamic University of Malang, Prof. Dr. Maskuri, M.Si.
Prof. Maskuri has provided a place for hotels and restaurants to conduct Halal assistance at the Unisma’s central laboratory and halal center, and this is a support from the leader of Unisma.
