STRENGTHENING  COOPERATION WITH UZBEKSITAN

University of Islam Malang again signed a MoU with Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies Uzbekistan. The agenda of signing of MoU was held virtually by the rectors of both universities (10/10).

Unisma rector, Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Si, said that Unisma has a close relationship with Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies Uzbekistan. For one year, Unisma lecturers have taught at the college.

“We have also visited Tashkent. They have warmly  welcome us and we were able to make a pilgrimage to the tomb of the Bukhori (one of welknown figure in Islam) there, “he said.

Prof. Maskuri added that the independent learning program from the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia really supports the building of cooperation between the two campuses. With independent learning between Unisma and Tashkent, they can carry out credit transfer programs and collaborative research.

“Independent learning provides a great opportunity to build international cooperation,” he said.

Furthermore, the rector of Unisma continued that this closeness was strengthened by the presence of Tashkent students at Unisma. They learn Indonesian culture and language and  Unisma students alo study in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The rector of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, Rikhsieva Gulchehra Shavkatovna, was so impressed with Prof. Maskuri. He also expressed his joy in being able to be partner of Unisma, which is the largest NU campus in Indonesia.

“I am very happy to hear the opinion of the rector of Unisma. We are sure that this cooperation program will greatly support the goals of the two universities, “he said.

According to him, cooperation with Unisma can support Tashkent’s aspirations to become a university that has an important role in building the Uzbeksitan Republic.

The retor of Tashkent State University also added that the credit transfer collaboration with Unisma became a new history for Tashkent. Dozens of students are currently studying at Unisma as international students.

“We are sure they will be more creative and knowledgeable after studying at Unisma,” he said
