A SPECIAL PRESENT BY THE END OF THE YEAR

Unisma was awarded the first award in the category of Best Higher Education in the Nahdlatul Ulama Environment at the 2020 National Best NU Campus Award ceremony. The award was given directly by Prof. Mohammad Nasir, SE., M.Ak., Ph.D, Chairman of the LPTNU PBNU (The Nahdlatul Ulama Higher Education Institution – Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama)

Unisma rector, Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Si, said that the award was received at the National Coordination Meeting of Nahdlatul Ulama Universities throughout Indonesia which was conducted online and offline at Institute Teknologi dan Sains Nahdlatul Ulama (ITSNU) Pekolongan, Central Java.

“So, the first ranking we achieved is based on an assessment conducted by the Ministry of Education and Culture some time ago, which was used as the basis for the Management of the NU PBNU Higher Education Institute,” he explained.

Prof. Maskuri stated that he was very grateful that Unisma was able to get the first place award at the end of the year, as well as motivating him to be creative and innovate continuously.

Previously, Unisma had won awards to be included in the 10 best campuses in East Java. This achievement is based on the decree of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture regarding the clustering of Indonesian universities in 2020.

“Unisma ranks 44 out of a total of 2,136 universities in Indonesia; whereas it ranked 85  last year” he explained. For this achievement, Unisma is in cluster 2.

“In terms of student performance in 2020, Unisma is also in the top 25 among state and private Indonesian universities based on the 2020 Ministry of Education and Culture ranking. Likewise nationally, research performance is included in the main cluster,” he added.

In addition, based on this clustering, Unisma is included in the top 10 ranks of state and private universities in East Java. In addition, Unisma was awarded to be included in 5 superior private campuses in East Java Province.

Alhamdulillah  (thank God) we have achieved many achievements, such as the publication system in the top 3 out of 328 private universities in East Java, which was given by the Head of Institution fo Higher Education Services 7 East Java on December 10, 2020,” he explained.

The rector hopes that Unisma will continue to improve the quality of education and implement the Tri Dharma (Research and Community Service) of higher education. “I hope to continue to innovate and build sustainable national and international partnerships,” he further said.
