
Students from the Faculty of Medicine (FK) at Universitas Islam Malang (UNISMA) have secured 1st place at the National Essay & Business Case Competition, held at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) Bandung on February 15, 2025. In recognition of this outstanding achievement, Arfi Yahya, Vice Dean III of FK UNISMA, expressed his appreciation and emphasized that the university will provide special rewards for outstanding students. “We are incredibly proud of this achievement. This victory serves as a motivation for younger students to follow in their footsteps, especially in such a prestigious competition,” he stated on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
FK UNISMA remains committed to supporting students’ academic and non-academic achievements. The faculty consistently nurtures students’ talents and interests, ensuring they receive the necessary training and mentorship to excel.
“If students need training, we will provide it. For competitions related to academics, our faculty members will actively support them so they can achieve victory,” he added.

This victory marks the second major achievement for FK UNISMA in the past three months, with previous success in sports competitions as well. “We continuously encourage students to participate in competitions. If there is another competition, they should confidently take part without hesitation. Their success will inspire and motivate their juniors,” Arfi Yahya affirmed.
Meanwhile, UNISMA’s Vice Rector III, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, M.Pd., highlighted this accomplishment as a testament to the dedication, hard work, and excellence of FK UNISMA students. “This achievement is a reflection of their dedication, perseverance, and quality. May this success inspire all UNISMA students to continue innovating, competing, and bringing pride to our alma mater at both national and international levels,” he remarked.
He further encouraged all UNISMA students to strive for personal growth by excelling not only in academics but also in developing soft skills that benefit society. “Keep creating, stay humble, and become agents of change for education and the community,” he concluded.
