The University of Islam Malang (Unisma) again broke the 8th Indonesian World Museum Record in 2020 for being an initiator and organizer of video uploads via youtube by the most new students (2/10).
In the closing ceremony of the 2020 new student orientation, Unisma also won trending topics on Twitter Indonesia with the hashtags #UnismaMalang # Oshikamaba2020 #BEMUnismaMalang recorded with 46.3 thousand times tweeted.
Senior manager of the Indonesian World Records Museum (MURI), Awan Rahargo, said that it was an honor for the world record-keeping institution to return to Unisma to record its 8th record.
“The record or achievement made by Unisma Malang is included in the superlative or highest criteria. There were 3833 videos uploaded in the closing of the 2020 new student orientation. We congratulate the record that was achieved,” he said.
Unisma’s rector, Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Si, in his closing remarks at the 2020 new student orientation said that there was a bless in disguise of the new student orientation held online this year so that it could also be followed by the wider community.
“Many people, starting from the opening of the new student orientation, also listened to all kinds of processes until the closing on this day,” explained the rector of Unisma.
Vice rector 3 of Unisma, Dr. Ir. H. Badat Muwakhid, MP, explained that the 2020 new student orientation had run as planned. Various activities were carried out together with resource persons such as the Minister of Education and Culture, the Minister of Village and Development of Disadvantaged regions to the Deputy Chairperson of the people’s representative.
The expressions of congratulations on the ongoing new student orientation  include from Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Minister of Manpower, Regent of Malang, Mayor of Malang, Chairman of Higher Education Service Institution, Surabaya, and chairman of Maarif Education Institution of The Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board.
