The rector of University of Islam Malang (Unisma) was invited along with other 23 rectors of private universities troughout Indonesia to hold an audience with the minister of education and culture, Nadiem Makarim, at the office of the ministry of education and culture, Jakarta (11/20).
The forum was also an opportunity to submit several proposals from Indonesian Rector Forum that included improvements in various fields including institutions, human resources, students, learning and revitalization of the educational workforce education institution.
The rector of Unisma, Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Si, said that the figure of Nadiem Makarim is a millennial minister who can create “out of the box” ideas to advance education in Indonesia so that acceleration in the implementation of the work program of the ministry of education and culture will be good as long as it can be implemented in the world of education.
Prof. Maskuri told that  Nadiem Makarim gave a briefing to the rector participants encouraging higher education as a place to produce superior, innovative and creative human resources, to produce  future leaders by carrying out 6 education principles namely think critically, utilize connectivity, develop creativity, embrace culture, work collaboratively, and communicate clearly.
