One student from the Department of English Education and two students from the Department of Indonesian Education program will soon leave for southern Thailand. They will have international school-based practicum in 2 schools in Thailand. They are Uswatul Hasanah and Riska Dwi Agustina who will teach at Santiwiyatta School and Arif Fatahilah will teach at Songsirwittayamulnithi School.
“Indeed, before the selection process, students should provide a statement letter of willingness of parents and students to pay for their visa, local transportation, and flight ticket. Then, the applicants take the selection processes” said Prayitno Tri Laksono M.Pd., Head of the Cooperation at Unisma.
The qualifications to join the program are also very high. After passing the oral and written tests, candidates should take interest and academic exploration and international insight tests. Then, they also go through religious interview because they will also teach Islamic religion there.
“In addition to teaching English and Indonesian, these students will teach Qur’an and Islamic religion, because the majority of the people in southern Thailand are moslems” prayitno added
He also explained that “Riska and Uswatul are really ready to stay at the school dormitory in Krabi. They are not too worried, because Indonesian is the students’ favorite subject beside English”.
” I’m really excited to join this program because I can get new experience and knowledge. Knowledge can be learnt not only in class and in Indonesia” Riska said.
Beside learning culture, language and international networking, they also get living allowance. In addition, the visa extension and all their needs there will be borne by the school.
