UNISMA CONTINUES INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION WITH RUSSIAN

Successfully having held an International Webinar with several campuses in Malaysia, Wednesday (27/5) University of Islam Malang (Unisma) once again expanded the activity to Russia. This time, Unisma teamed up with several Russian institutions to join the webinar that was joined by thousands of participants.

The guest speaker was H.E. Mr. Vitaly Glinkin who is also as Head of Representation of Rossotrudnichestvo who also serves as Director of the Russian Center of Science and Culture Counselor of the Russian Embassy in Indonesia. In addition there are Prof. Elchin Gashimov, Ph.D as Vice-President of the Samara Branch of the Moscow City University and Head of the Samara Municipal Center of Education.

On this occasion, the vice rector 1 of Unisma, Prof. Drs. H. Junaidi, M.Pd., Ph.D, said that through the webinar, Unisma had initiated a collaboration between the University of Indonesia and Russia. The cooperation had previously been initiated with an agreement set forth in the MoU by Unisma and several international partners. Among them are the Russian Center of Science and Culture Counselor of the Russian Embassy and Samara Branch of the Moscow City University.

The Vice Rector 1 revealed that the MoU with overseas campuses did not have to be in a ceremony that the two parties must meet especially in today’s COVID-19 pandemic. Then the signing of the MoU can also be done online, which had previously been understood by both parties.

Prof. Junaidi said that Unisma had made a breakthrough by bringing experts or resource persons online. Several guest lectures have been conducted online. So there is no need to bring resource persons to Indonesia.

Meanwhile, head of Office of International Affairs of Unisma, Dr. Imam Wahyudi Karimullah, MA, was pleased with the welcome of several campuses in Russia that provided opportunities for Indonesian students, especially Unisma students. “The Russian government is very open to accepting Indonesian students. And until now there are some Indonesian students who are studying nuclear there, “he said.
