
Universitas Islam Malang (UNISMA) has officially inaugurated three professors from different faculties in a single ceremony. The event took place at Gedung Bundar Al-Asyari on Wednesday (February 5, 2025). This milestone further solidifies UNISMA’s position as one of Indonesia’s leading universities.
The newly appointed professors are Prof. Dr. Ir. Eko Noerhayati, MT from the Faculty of Engineering, specializing in irrigation engineering; Prof. Dr. Ir. Anis Sholihah, MP from the Faculty of Agriculture, focusing on organic materials and quality engineering; and Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Usman Ali, MP from the Faculty of Animal Science, specializing in nutrition and livestock feed technology.
UNISMA’s Rector, Prof. Drs. Junaidi Mistar, M.Pd, Ph.D, emphasized that this achievement is a significant step toward realizing UNISMA’s vision as a world-class university. He highlighted that earning the title of professor is not an easy feat but the result of years of dedication and hard work. “We believe that these professors have gone through an extraordinary journey, meeting all rigorous academic requirements, including publishing scientific journals at both national and international levels,” he stated.
Prof. Junaidi further stressed that professors carry a great responsibility in fulfilling the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, such as education, research, and community service. He hopes that these newly inaugurated professors will serve as role models in their respective fields and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of science and technology.
UNISMA is also committed to supporting national programs, particularly in food security and stunting prevention. With expertise in irrigation engineering, agriculture, and animal science, these professors are expected to collaborate in strengthening Indonesia’s food security efforts.
The Head of the Higher Education Service Institution (LLDikti) for East Java Region VII, Prof. Dr. Dyah Sawitri, SE, MM, also expressed appreciation for UNISMA’s achievements. She hopes the university will continue producing outstanding research with a broad impact, both nationally and internationally. According to her, UNISMA has great potential in shaping highly competent human resources ready to face global challenges.
With the inauguration of these three new professors, UNISMA further demonstrates its commitment to enhancing the quality of higher education and contributing to Indonesia’s food security. This achievement is also part of UNISMA’s ongoing efforts to innovate and excel in the academic world.
