Universitas Islam Malang (UNISMA) officially concluded the 2025 Orientation for New Students (OSHIKA MABA) on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. A total of 5,961 new students from various academic levels are now formally part of the UNISMA academic community. The closing ceremony was held on campus and attended by the university’s leadership.
Vice Rector III for Student Affairs, Religious Affairs, and Alumni, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, M.Pd., emphasized that new students are not only pursuing higher education for personal advancement, but also carry broader responsibilities toward society, the nation, and the Muslim community.
“Students must cultivate a great mind, a broad and visionary mindset that generates ideas, solutions, and leadership. With this foundation, they can emerge as agents of change within their families, on campus, and in the wider society,” Dr. Yunus stated in his remarks.
He highlighted that higher education serves as a strategic pillar in driving the nation’s social and economic transformation. For this reason, UNISMA remains committed to nurturing a “golden generation” capable of contributing meaningfully to the realization of Indonesia Vision 2045.
This year’s OSHIKA MABA adopted the theme “UNISMA New Students Making an Impact: Socially Caring, Environmentally Sustainable.” The theme reflects the university’s encouragement for students to be active not only in academic pursuits, but also in student organizations, entrepreneurship, arts, sports, and community service initiatives.
Dr. Yunus also expressed his appreciation to the parents for entrusting their children’s education to UNISMA. He voiced hope that the positive trend in student enrollment will continue in the coming years.
With the conclusion of OSHIKA MABA 2025, thousands of new students now begin their university journey as part of UNISMA Malang, an Islamic leading university committed to producing future agents of change for Indonesia 2045.
