FACILITATING 400 INSTITUTES FOR MOU WITH MALAYSIA

Unisma  provides opportunities for education or non-education institutions in Indonesia to collaborate with Universitas Malaysia Kelantan (UMK). The opportunity was announced publicly through a national webinar yesterday (9/6). No less than 400 participants, consisting of leaders of educational and non-educational institutions in Indonesia, took part in this international webinar.

Unisma’s rector, Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri M.Si, who was represented by vice rector 1, Prof.  H. Junaidi, M.Pd, Ph.D, said that the international webinar was held to bridge the collaboration between home and overseas institutions. The reason is that home universities and educational as well as non-educational institutions frequently have difficulty in establishing international cooperation.

“We facilitate this collaboration from the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA).  Unisma has conducted several similar activities, for example 2 years ago, we hosted the signing of a MoU between 20 foreign universities with 100 universities in this country, “he said.

Prof. Junaidi continued that there were at least more than 400 educational or non-educational institutions and universities that had registered to collaborate with Universitas Malaysia Kelantan (UMK). Looking at the various fields owned by UMK, there are also various collaborations that can be carried out ranging from further studies that provide scholarships (Fee deduction for universities that establish MoU), student exchanges, research  to training.

“We, on behalf of the rector, would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to the leadership of the UMK. We hope that what we produce continues on the MoU and the MoA. To be sure we hope that there will be an increase in educational qualifications in both Indonesia and Malaysia,” he said.

Meanwhile, the vice rector for Academic Affairs and Cooperation of UMK, Prof. Dr. Mohd Rafi bin Yacoob, said that UMK had widely opened cooperation with Indonesia and certainly in accordance with the fields that are owned by the UMK
