New student orientation activities at Unisma were held in several stages. After academic and campus life orientation and religious introduction, Â today (15/9) the third stage was opened namely the transformation and character-building period for new students.
The transformation and character-building period for the new student opening ceremony was held online. “This time the transformation and character-building period for new students are held every Wednesday for one semester,” explained vice-rector 3, Dr. Ir H Badat Muwakhid in his speech.
This activity is a routine agenda for each new student to standardize character for those who are studying at Unisma. The character includes intellectuality, an Islamic character, and an Indonesian-based character.
Meanwhile, in his speech, Unisma rector, Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri Msi, said that students must be able to think critically i.e “being critical and able to analyze the situation or social dynamics by developing the reasoning power that was previously obtained,” he explained.
One of the expected outputs is a comparative character in addition to being competitive. “Combining Islam and science is the advantage of all of you because in Islam there is a spirit to have multiple thoughts which can be a stepping stone that you can be proud of yourself and can share with the people,” he concluded.
