INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE TO DISCUSS VARIOUS FIELDS OF SCIENCES IN THE ERA OF SOCIETY 5.0

Unisma held an online international conference yesterday (29/10). The activity, which collaborated with the Indonesian Rector’s Forum and the NU Higher Education Rector’s Forum, was attended by more than seven countries and four campuses that became co-host partners.

Among the participating countries are Malaysia, Seoul, South Korea, Brunei Darussalam, Palestine, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Yemen, East Timor Leste, Thailand, and Uzbekistan. Meanwhile, four campuses are co-host partners. namely Samawa Sumbawa Besar University, North Sulawesi Muhammadiyah University, Perbanas Institute Jakarta and Darussalam Institute of Islamic Religion Blokagung Banyuwangi.

Unisma rector, Prof. Dr. Maskuri Msi,  said that this international conference was interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary. This means that various sciences are discussed in the activity. In detail, the multidisciplinary is divided into three areas namely issues of education and religion, social sciences or humanities as well as the exact and medical fields.

“This activity is in the context of exposing various research results owned by lecturers, both Unisma lecturers and lecturers from outside Unisma and even from foreign lecturers. Through this agenda, it is hoped that this activity will strengthen scientific development insights. This includes the possibility of downstream research results,” he explained.

Furthermore, collaboration in this agenda is also very important in which lecturers who meet will strengthen each other’s scientific studies. Even the results of this conference will also be made into a kind of journal and proceedings both nationally and internationally.

“The participants who have registered for presentations at this two-day international conference are more than 130 lecturers both national and international lecturers. From Unisma there are around 60 lecturers. This is a manifestation that the academic atmosphere at Unisma has been conducive,” he explained.

Lecturer research activities at Unisma are always fully supported by the campus. Maskuri said that the allocation of research funds for one year at Unisma was prepared around 5 billion rupiahs. In addition, the Ministry of Education and Culture has also allocated  15 billion rupiahs  “because Research and Community Service Institution of  Unisma is already in the main cluster,” he added.
