
Universitas Islam Malang alumnus Achmad Kanzul Fikri, M.Pd., has once again achieved international recognition. The 2011 graduate of the English Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), was selected to participate in NextGen Leader 2025 in Germany, a global forum bringing together hundreds of participants from various countries to discuss entrepreneurship and education (November 24–December 4).
The program was organized in collaboration with Exocloud, an institution actively engaged in developing cross-border young talents. In this prestigious event, Gus Fikri, his well-known nickname, earned a fully funded award, recognizing his track record and contributions to innovation-driven education. This achievement reflects the global competitiveness of UNISMA graduates and positions him as one of Indonesia’s representatives in an international leadership forum. The opportunity also opens wider avenues for international collaboration in advancing educational programs back home.
During his time at UNISMA, Gus Fikri, who now serves as Chairman of the Al-Aqobah Foundation in Jombang, was known for his active involvement in academic activities and student organizations. His deep engagement in campus life helped shape his leadership foundation and professional network, which continue to support his career today. The academic experiences he gained at UNISMA strengthened his confidence to pursue impactful work in education and human resource development.
In a separate statement, Gus Fikri highlighted one of UNISMA’s greatest strengths: its warm and progressive academic ecosystem. According to him, the university not only encourages academic excellence but also provides space for creativity, social engagement, and leadership development. “UNISMA gives students ample room to grow into well-rounded individuals. That is a valuable asset when stepping into the professional world,” he said.
He also expressed gratitude for having been part of the UNISMA family, describing his university years as a crucial foundation that led him to international opportunities. Through his participation in NextGen Leader 2025, Gus Fikri hopes to continue bringing pride to UNISMA and inspiring young Indonesians.
