Unisma Coffee Festival

The coffee is unique in sense that one coffee bean can express a million flavors. The uniqueness was also captured by the Unisma Teaching and Education Faculty (FKIP) which held a Coffee Festival as a means of practicing directly Protocol and Entrepreneurship course. The dean of FKIP Universitas Islam Malang (Unisma), Dr. HasanBusriMPd, said that  the Unisma Coffee Festival is an effort to give opportunity to students majoring in Indonesian to practice Protocoland Entrepreneurshipcourse. “Because we not only give them theories, but we also give them chance to apply  protocol practices at national or international events” he said. Furthermore, the dean of FKIP Unisma explained that the Unisma Coffee Festival was held just one day, Saturday (05/01/2019) located in the parking lot behind the Unisma campus. This event alsoincludes  Talk Show, V.60 Barista Competition, Photography Competition, and Local Band performances. The Dean of FKIP Unisma also said, “This faculty is known for its excellence and becomes a reference for other universities, especially its curriculum. “We always combine hard-skill and soft-skill in applying all courses to prepare our students to dedicate their life in a community,” he explained. FKIP Unisma not only educates  students to be  a teacher, but at the same time as entrepreneurs. “We often let students observe other educational institutions, allowing them to see how to manage education, so that our graduates may not only become educators, but also managers and even owners of an educational institution, “HasanBusri said. The Unisma Coffee Festival entitled ‘Awakening Coffee as Local Wisdom’by carrying the tagline ‘Malang Duwe Kopi’ (Malang has coffee), which was participated  by 24 coffee producers throughout Malang and enlivened by music bands from Surabaya and Jogja.
