The general chief of PBNU, KH. Miftakhul Akhyar, stronglys asserted to thousands of new students of the University of Islam Malang (Unisma) not to be part of the group that took part in understanding blindly the concept of Islam Nusantara . According to him, Islam Nusantara is only a term to distinguish the the concept of Islam Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaah An-Nahdliyah from the others.
Therefore, in the Studium Generale with the theme of strengthening Islamic Nusantara in the Era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and society 5.0, Miftakhul Akhyar appealed to Unisma students to deepen the knowledge of Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaah.
“La Takun Imma ah, do not just follow or join in, in understanding the concept of Islam Nusantara, it must be examined from the right perspective according to the teachings of the Aswaja scholars,” he explained in the 2019 Halaqah Diniyah event for Unisma new students, Thursday (5 / 9).
In front of thousands of new students, KH. Miftakhul Akhyar hopes that Unisma students will become a broad-minded generation. The Halaqah is expected to be the first step in opening their horizons to the global situation including on Aswaja and Islam Nusantara.
Unisma’s rector, Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Si., said that Halaqah Diniyah is an annual agenda to equip new students with scientific studies both about the creed, sharia and morals.
Halaqah Diniyah is Unisma’s effort in preparing the generation of professional intellectual Ulemas and professional intellectual ulemas. “This is an inseparable part of making Unisma as a referent campus of NU,” he said.
