Unisma held a national seminar entitled “Real Action of the Higher Education Mental Revolution in Realizing Superior Human Resource”, on Friday (5/11/2021).
The activity held online invited Prof. Ir Panut Mulyono who is also Chair of the Indonesian rector Forum as well as rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and was attended by approximately 500 participants online.
Prof. Ir Panut Mulyono stressed that students must be equipped with 21st-century competencies and the industrial revolution. This is a tough challenge for universities so that graduates are relevant to the needs of the world market.
“So how do we face such rapid changes? we have to equip our students with data literacy, technology, communication skill, and creativity,” he said.
Prof. Junaidi, Ph.D, vice rector 1 as well as the person in charge of the National Mental Revolution Movement said that this seminar was the culmination of a series of Unisma activities in guarding the 2021 National Mental Revolution Movement.
Previously, this activity was held nationally by the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia and the Indonesian Rector Forum attended by 1,009 colleges proposing that agenda which took place on June 19-22 2021.
Meanwhile, Unisma rector, Prof. Maskuri MSi, explained that this program is to build integrity, work ethic, and also cooperation, the Indonesian attitude which has recently been eroded.
“Integrity includes moral integrity, work, discipline building, to cleanliness. The integrity entails professionalism, brave attitude, independent attitude, ability to work together, and competitive spirit in accordance with their respective fields and characters,” he said.
Furthermore, he continued, two things could be extracted in the Unisma’s national movement of mental revolution this time; first, building patriotism for both academics and the general public through creativity products; Second, building mindset, thinking, behaving, and better work ethics for the development of the nation.
