Unisma Malang students passed the 2019 student creativity program or PKM through their proposal entitled Miss Rama oral cavity cleaner, an innovation foranticariogenic mouthwash. The research team for PKM-Entrepreneurship consists of Rukun Rahayu, Dinda Prasisca W, and Eva Yuliana Pratama. The primary rationale of their proposal on oral mouthwash is that many Indonesians pay less attention to dental and oral hygiene.
Rukun explained that this mouthwash uses natural ingredients that are environmentally friendly and certainly safe for health. “We use sour sop leaves, betel leaves and tamarind seeds; the combination of these three ingredients contains chemical compounds of alkaloids, phlobatnin, tannin, pholiphenol compounds, and flavonoids,” explained Rukun
She further added that the three ingredients contain anti-bacteria against Streptococcus Mutans, the Porphyromonas gingivalis which can cause tooth decay. “These ingredients can also make the breath fresher,” She said
In addition, these natural ingredients are easily found in Indonesia. So Rukun and her team believe that this product can continue to be produced. At the moment, Miss Rama oral cavity cleaner which is the result of the innovation of Nature Science students of Unisma has been sold both offline and online.
