Universitas Islam Malang (UNISMA) celebrated its 44th Anniversary by hosting the UNISMA Fun Walk 2025 at the campus courtyard on Sunday, October 19, 2025. In addition to commemorating the university’s anniversary, the event also marked National Santri Day 2025 and was enthusiastically welcomed by thousands of participants from various backgrounds.
The fun walk brought together members of the UNISMA academic community, including lecturers, administrative staff, new students, and alumni, as well as members of the public and santri from across the Greater Malang area. The festive atmosphere was evident from early morning, filled with a spirit of unity and active participation.
UNISMA Rector, Prof. Drs. H. Junaidi, M.Pd., Ph.D., expressed his gratitude for the successful organization of the event. “This event represents togetherness and the university’s social commitment to the wider community. It is not merely a joint exercise activity, but also part of our effort to create a meaningful impact,” he stated.
Beyond the fun walk itself, the celebration featured a lively MSME bazaar showcasing dozens of local product booths, ranging from culinary delights and Muslim fashion to handicrafts created by students and partner communities. Visitors also benefited from free medical services, including blood pressure and blood sugar checks, as well as health consultations provided by medical teams from UNISMA’s Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Health Sciences.
The highlight of UNISMA Fun Walk 2025 was the much-anticipated door prize draw. The grand prizes included three motorcycles and various electronic appliances. In a joyful and emotional moment, one of the main prizes was won by a new student from the Faculty of Engineering, bringing the event to an exciting close.
The event was also attended by representatives of local government, including the Head of the Youth and Sports Office of Malang Regency and the Head of the National Unity and Politics Agency (Bakesbangpol) of Malang City, as well as members of the UNISMA Foundation Board. Their presence underscored broad support for university initiatives that extend beyond campus boundaries and benefit the public.
UNISMA Fun Walk 2025 not only strengthened the bond between the academic community and society, but also introduced UNISMA to a wider audience as a university that excels academically while actively promoting health, unity, and social well-being.
