SOCIAL CONCERN FOR ISLAMIC BOARDING SCHOOL

University of Islam Malang (Unisma)  again held social services as its  concern for Islamic boarding schools in Malang Regency.

This time, the social service was centered at People’s Islamic Boarding school Al Amin Sumber Pucung (9/8). Rector of Unisma, Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Si, accompanied  by the Human Resources and Religious Affairs Foundation Board and  Vice Rectors handed over 3 goats and a number of development funds to the caregivers of the Al-Amin  Islamic Boarding School.

Caregiver of Al-Amin Islamic Boarding School, KH. Abdullah SAM, S.Psi, in his speech expressed his gratitude to Unisma and introduced a little of the activities in this Islamic Boarding School and hoped that this collaboration would continue.

“We call this school  the people’s Islamic Boarding School because basically education can come from anywhere, not only from reading the religion books,  religious lessons, and other academic matters but also from various things that exist around the community ” he said.

According to the Rector of Unisma, Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Si, this people’s Islamic Boarding School is a post-modern Islamic Boarding School, more modern than modern Islamic Boarding School.

“In this Islamic Boarding School, students not only learn religion, but also social sciences. This is important so that students have various competencies, ”he said.

Furthermore, the Rector of Unisma also mentioned that the independence policy of the Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture, Nadiem Makarim, had only appeared at the end of 2019 but this Islamic Boarding School had implemented the concept of independent learning since 2008.

“For this reason, Islamic Boarding School students should not be discouraged, because they will certainly become great leaders in their time” said the Rector of Unisma.

Unisma Rector, Prof. Maskuri, also believes that if the Islamic Boarding School is developed according to the concept of al-muhafadhotu ‘ala qodimis sholih wal akhdzu bil jadidil ashlah, which means maintaining good old traditions and adopting new, better traditions, this Islamic Boarding School will certainly  be able to keep up with the dynamics and developments of the times or era.

“This Islamic Boarding School  is no longer left behind because this is where the militancy of future leaders will build.” concluded the Rector of Unisma.
