Unisma cooperates with East Java Regional Management of Nahdlatul Ulama. The collaboration was stated in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the rector of Unisma and the Chair of the East Java Regional Management of Nahdlatul Ulama on Thursday (16/2). The MoU is evidence of Unisma’s great determination to offer more benefits to the wider society.
Unsima rector, Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Si, said that Unisma had made serious agreements with the East Java Regional Management of Nahdlatul Ulama such as in the fields of education, community services, and research. “We agreed to further improve the quality of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education with East Java Regional Management of Nahdlatul Ulama,” he said.
He explained that departing from the cooperation agreement, Unisma will have a significant role in developing people’s living standards. One of them is in the field of people’s economy or MSMEs. “And this is a Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board program,” he added.
Moreover, Unisma’s role in the future will be more tangible in the field of improving the quality of human resources, producing generations of intellectuals either through the academic process on the Unisma campus, or providing training and teaching in the community.
Prof. Maskuri emphasized that the efforts that had been intensified by Unisma in the academic field were none other than to realize the quality of human resources. “Unisma has always been at the forefront of supporting improvement in global competitiveness, leading to a more civilized life” he stressed.
More specifically, the Unisma MoU with Regional Management of Nahdlatul Ulama is to develop a technocratic spirit. It is known that Nahdlatul Ulama followers make up almost 50 percent of the total number of Indonesian citizens.
From this data, empirical studies are needed to improve the quality of human resources for NU followers, especially in East Java. Therefore, Unisma plays a major role in strengthening information technology in enhancing all areas of life.
