Unisma Distribute Staple Food and Zakat Fitrah to Students

In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, Unisma again paid attention to its students. Nearing  Eid al-Fitr  day on Saturday (9/5) this afternoon, Unisma provided assistance to hundreds of students who were still in Malang because they could not go home.

Assistance in the form of food packages and zakat fitrah is given to out-of-town students who are still in Malang. Unisma entrusted caretaker of Ainul Yaqin mosque to manage and distribute it. Students in Malang were identified using the Google form to be subsequently registered before receiving the assistance.

The assistance is very meaningful for students, especially now that they are isolated because they cannot return to their hometown. On othe other hand, the price of staples is getting more expensive ahead of Eid Fitr day. This was felt by M. Mas’ud Hakim, a student of Unisma from Riau. “We are very grateful that the campus provided this assistance, our daily need is met  when we could not be with our families” he said after receiving zakat fitrah.

Head of caretaker of Ainul Yaqin mosque of Unisma, Kukuh Santoso, S.Pd., M.Pd.I, said that the assistance for the students this time was in the form of food packages and zakat fitrah. . There are 700 packages that have been collected by the management board of the mosque.

“This is the concern of Unisma lecturers and employees for students. Hopefully what we give can help ease the burden they feel at the moment especially for students who can’t go home, “he said.

Staple food packages given to students comprise sugar, cooking oil, noodles and tea as well as  zakat fitrah rice from lecturers and employees. “One package worths 100 thousand rupiahs plus zakat fitrah rice,” he added.
