Unisma’s academic community again won a prestigious award. This time, Unisma won the third national ranking in the community service category for the anti-hypertensive drink which is the combination of tea and mango parasites.
This service activity is one of the funding assistance programs for Autonomous Learning-Independent Campus of Policy Research Program and Community Service Based on Private Higher Education Research Results in 2021. This program is under the authority of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.
A research lecturer on tea and mango parasites products, Dr. Nour Athiroh AS, S.Si., M.Kes, said that research on these products has been carried out for more or less 10 years. “After the research is carried out, the product is then downstream with community service and receives grant from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology,” she said.
This community service takes place at Griya Jamu (herbal house) Â Sitiara, Batu City. Because it is one of the MSMEs engaged in herbal medicine and collaboration with the Community Woman Association. She explained that there were several community service activities carried out including socialization about hypertension and herbal medicine to the public.
“After that process, this research was then selected to be presented at the national seminar which was directly reviewed by representatives from  Research and Technology and Higher Education,” explained Dr. Athiroh who is also the head of Research and Community Service Institute of Unisma.
Furthermore, she revealed the superiority of his presentation at the results seminar, thus bringing her to third place nationally in which she is not only providing an explanation related to tea and mango parasite products.
Meanwhile, Unisma rector, Prof. Dr. H Maskuri, M.Si, explained that research and community service activities in this campus had achieved quite a several achievements. There are approximately 97 achievements of community service research based on the Autonomous Learning- Independent Campus program.
“This is a great achievement, Dr. Athiroh with the team. This is for health which is good for hypertension,” he concluded.
