TRUSTED BY  FILM CENSOR INSTITUTION TO RAISE ISSUES OF  TOLERANCE AND EDUCATION VALUE

Unisma is one of 24 campuses in Indonesia that are partnered with the Indonesian Film Censorship Institute. The task is to evaluate the feasibility of a film that will be screened in Indonesia.

“The Film Censorship Institute cooperates with Unisma, because they see that Unisma understands the paradigm of Indonesian culture and civilization with scientific studies,” said Unisma rector, Prof. Dr. H Maskuri Msi, after signing the MoU.

The film industry in Indonesia must think about a film concept that upholds the value of tolerance and contains educational values. “We focus on clothing, content and others. Yesterday we emphasized films that arouse love for the country, nationalism, revival of economy, social conerns  and public health, “he explained.

Cooperation covers six points. Both parties will implement them in support of the Independent Learning – Independent Campus program. He hopes that through this cooperation, film screenings in Indonesia can be better controlled including their clear purpose and benefits.

“Students can develop their talents, skills and others. We already have a theater, a student activity unit,  faculty short film production, this is a capital. We have a theater in the Ustman bin Affan building. I think students’ talent will develop, “he concluded.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Unisma and the Indonesian Film Censorship Institute in Jakarta was attended by Prof. Dr. Muhajir Effendy, M.A.P., Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture of Indonesia and Meutya Viada Hafid, the Chair of Commission I of  Indonesian House of Representative.
